Star Wars (untitled Boba Fett novel)
US book (non-fiction): written
by Karen Traviss
paperback,
Del Rey
cancelled: Karen Traviss (December 2, 2009): The Boba Fett novel was cancelled by
the publisher because of potential canon clashes with the upcoming TV
series, as you have already heard from other sources. No, I really don't have a
clue what those clashes might be. Sorry.
from karentraviss.com (August 5, 2008): “I'll be continuing the Republic Commando series after ORDER 66 as
IMPERIAL COMMANDO (well, obvious really, what with the Republic falling at the
end of the book, and all that...) and I'll also be writing a Boba Fett novel
and an essential guide to the Star Wars military.”
Star Wars: Blood Oath
US book (fiction): written by Elaine
Cunningham, cover by Dave Seely
paperback
(352 pages), Del Rey, ISBN 0-345-51067-9, SRP: $ 7.99
from Sue Rostoni at the sw.com
forums (June 22, 2009): Blood Oath -- we're all doing our best to keep it in
the line-up and, if the manuscript comes in soon, the book will be moved again,
maybe to April 2010. If there's no manuscript, then it'll have to be dropped.
Events beyond the author's control, or wishes, have caused the delays. I know,
that really doesn't tell you much, but it's not my story to tell, ya know?
from Elaine Cunningham’s LiveJournal (September 15, 2008): Blood Oath is a self-contained story, rather than an episode
within a larger tale. While both have
their place, I’m very pleased to have the opportunity to tell a largely
self-contained story.
Blood Oath is an adventure shadowed by political intrigue, with
a bit of humor and maybe a hint of romance. I can’t hope to recreate the
sense of wonder I found in my first trip to a theater back in
1978, but I’m keeping that memory firmly in mind as I write.
from starwars.com (September 18, 2008): Blood Oath, a
standalone paperback featuring Zekk that is set soon after the events of the
Legacy of the Force series.
from Sue Rostoni’s
blog (September 29, 2008): This is Zekk's story and takes place after his mishap
in the battle in INVINCIBLE. Yes, he still lives. We have just received cover
concepts on this one - the artist is Dave Seeley.
timeline notations by Sue Rostoni at the starwars.com
forums (October 2, 2008): They way we have it right now is that Legacy of the
Force ends in the middle of year 41 ABY. Blood Oath follows a few months later, and Millennium Falcon takes place at
43.44 ABY (these are tenths of a twelve-month year) with Fate of the Jedi
starting at 43.5.
from Sue Rostoni’s
blog (December 18, 2008): Blood Oath has been moved to December 2009. The
manuscript hasn't been delivered yet -- it just got to be too late to make the
deadline, so we moved it. I feel badly because the story, as you know, takes
place before Outcast so we wanted it to come out as close to Outcast as
possible... but it didn't happen.
from Sue Rostoni’s
blog (December 18, 2008): Remember where we left Zekk at the end of the final
battle in Invincible? This book begins with Zekk left spinning in his StealthX
and follows his journey to rejoin the Jedi Order. But first..... well, it's all
in the novel.
from starwars.com (January 6, 2009):
Once an orphan scavenging on the streets of Coruscant's undercity, he rose to
become a Jedi Knight and serve with honor as a fighter pilot for the New
Republic. Alongside Jaina Solo, he confronted the forces of Darth Caedus -- the
most powerful of the Sith Lords -- in a battle that nearly destroyed him. But
his story isn't over. For Zekk, the future holds much more...
Darth Caedus is dead, and the war is ended. Still, the Imperial Remnant
remains a very real threat for the Galactic Alliance. And though the Moffs'
attempted assassination of Tenel Ka, Queen Mother of the Hapes Consortium, has
failed, their machinations have uncovered an ancient secret capable of
destroying the queen and her people as surely as the deadliest attack.
As Jag Fel, Imperial Remnant leader and Zekk's longtime rival for Jaina
Solo's affections, assumes control of the Moff Council -- stepping right into a
nest of explosive intrigue -- Zekk, desperate to contact his Jedi comrades,
finds himself at the mercy of a pirate captain with an unknown agenda and
allegiance to none but herself. But with or without her, the Knight vows to do
whatever it takes to stop the volatile conflict unfolding around him from
reaching its fatal endgame.
from
Previews # 245, February 2009 (January 2009):
Set between the conclusion of Legacy of the Force and the beginning of the Fate
of the Jedi series, this new, original, stand-alone Star Wars adventure focuses
on the popular Jedi character Zekk caught up in Imperial intrigue.

Star Wars Comic Packs: Visionaries story
US comic with
action figures
Star
Wars: Visionaries (with Tol Skorr and Asajj Ventress)
information taken from Hasbro.com (May 29, 2008):
Question: You confirmed that a Visionaries figure is coming.
Can you reveal how its coming, i.e. a Battle Pack or Basic
Wave?
Answer by Hasbro: Neither. It will be in a comic
2-pack, out late 2009.
Information taken from jeditemplearchives.com
(December 6, 2008):
Question: Back in a May 2008 Q&A session with The Jawa it was mentioned that a
VISIONARIES comic 2-pack would be on the way in 2009. Can you confirm the
figure lineup for this pack? Will it feature the iconic final
confrontation between Obi-Wan and cyborg Darth Maul?
Answer by Hasbro: We
now have more information on the timing of this set. Due to a crowded Fall 2009
comic pack schedule, this pack has now been slotted in with the first wave of
2010 which should be on shelf approximately January/February. Since it is
still so far off, we don't want to confirm the figures in the pack except to
say that your guess on one of the characters is incorrect.

Star Wars actor Anthony Forrest on a comic called Star Wars: Fixer: From the
Shadow of Twin Suns. Our story is about Anthony’s character Fixer from the
famous deleted scenes in A New
Hope. the comic is a view of the
Star Wars galaxy
through the eyes of an average guy. It is a character driven adventure of
fixer, a mechanic leading a normal life who is forced to become a fugitive when
the empire and it’s agents discover that he has had a lifelong friendship with
one of the galaxy’s most wanted men: Luke
Skywalker."

Star Wars: Force Unleashed tie-in (worktitle, non-Hyperspace)
US webstrip:,
illustrated by Tom Hodges
webstrip, Lucas Online
Information taken from Pablo Hidalgo’s blog-entry at Celebration IV, May
27, 2007:
Earlier today at Celebration IV, Joe Corroney, Tom Hodges
and myself sat and chatted with Hyperspace members in the Fan Club Lounge. Much
of the chatter was about The Clone
Wars trailer, which had just debuted
that day, but we did turn specifically to the subject of webstrips eventually,
and here’s what we had to say.
We’ve got a plan to do two more original webstrips this year.
They will be available to everyone — not subscriber exclusive — because the
hope is that they’ll reach a wide enough success to warrant doing future
installments. I have indeed talked casually to other authors who have expressed
interest in doing strips, but right now budget allows for only two more at the
moment.
They’ll both start later this summer. One is a Force
Unleashed tie-in strip that will include Shaak Ti, illustrated by Tom Hodges.
The second is Rookies: Day
Long Remembered,
illustrated by Joe Corroney.

Star Wars:
Imperial Commando (book 2 in the Imperial Commando-series)
US book (fiction):
paperback,
Del Rey
Sue Rostoni at the
starwars.com forums (July 6, 2010): Last of the Imperial Commando books ---
We're seriously considering abandoning this. The time between the two books is
going to be years and we're not sure enough people will still be interested in
it to warrant the writing. We have something else in mind, though, something
that I know many of you have been wanting for years. So hopefully you'll be
happy with the change. As soon as I can, I'll give you more details.
Sue Rostoni at the sw.com
forums (March 1, 2010): Then we've put Imperial Commando #2 in February 2012 and we have an
author that hasn't signed yet -- so I can't release that author until the
contract is signed.
Sue Rostoni at the sw.com
forums (January 12, 2010): And yes, the plans are to move forward with Imperial Commando #2. No
definite pub date yet.
Sue Rostoni at the starwars.com
forums (January 5, 2010): I sure hope we have an author by fall..... the
publication date (November 2010) will surely change though.
Sue Rostoni at the starwars.com
forums (December 8, 2009): Imperial Commando -- we're seriously considering
continuing the series with a new author. Details to come as they happen....
Karen Traviss withdraws as author of Imperial Commando Book 2 (December 2, 2009): I'm an old journo, as you almost certainly know by now, and like any
good journo (there are such animals, honest) I prefer to be proactive, not
reactive.
But today I'm reacting, because somebody blurted out something on a
forum, and the rumours started. Yes, for once a rumour is actually true; I've
withdrawn from the sequel to
Imperial Commando 501st, which was going to be my
final Star Wars novel. I had issues over contractual matters and working
practices that still showed no signs of being resolvable after a couple of
years, so I told the publisher that I would not be doing the book.
Karen Traviss withdraws about the book’s storyline (December 2, 2009): Some of you have already asked what's going to happen to the book,
but I just don't know - and I actually don't know any more than I did in
January. All I can tell you is what I would have written had I gone ahead with
IC#2, and - summarizing loosely - the main characters would have escaped the
Empire in the ba'slan
shev'la you already know about from Legacy of the Force.
(But you knew all that from Revelation anyway.) I would have left the story in a state where the powers that
be could either put it on ice forever, or resurrect it with another writer and
a new direction. I don't write scorched-earth roadblock endings that make
it impossible for other authors to continue stories, because that's pointless
and unprofessional, and the only person who suffers is the reader.
summary from amazon
UK: "In
this followup to "Star Wars: Imperial Commando: 501st" the Clone Wars
are over, and the Republic commandos now wear the white armor of the
stormtroopers in service to the Empire. But not all those commandos are loyal
to the Emperor, turning the fight against the rebels into a war between clone
brothers! The newly-fledged Empire is strengthening its foothold on Mandalore,
but Kal Skirata's clan of clone deserters and fugitive Jedi face a new threat
as an older, more insidious enemy emerges from decades in hiding. The Death
Watch is back. The loathed Mandalorian hardliners - the brutal nationalist
faction that murdered Jango Fett's parents - are now on the Imperial payroll,
threatening to bring civil war to the Mandalore sector. As Clan Skirata
prepares to settle old scores, knowing they may lose the battle, Imperial
commandos Darman and Niner arrive on a covert mission that will put them on a
collision course with their former brothers. Their task: to hunt down and kill
eccentric Jedi Master Djinn Altis, an unlikely ally of Clan Skirata. But Darman
has plans of his own that he hasn't even revealed to Niner. He's come looking
for his son, Kad. The galaxy is a dangerous place for a kid who's half-Force
user, half clone, and Darman's set on getting Kad out of the reach of both the
Emperor and the last of the Jedi any way he can - even if that means taking on
the man he's always called father. "
