The survival of the Republic depends on two factors:
wise governing by administrators and lawmakers, and the preservation of harmony
and justice by the Jedi. It is a practice for Jedi to become guardians of new
star systems, overseeing transitions and assisting with local difficulties.

Chronology, pages 8 & 9)

01:24, morning - day (Colonies, Truuine system: Truuine) On a sightseeing excursion, a quick jaunt to the Truuine system, the
young adult Gotal Kitk Kark suddenly realizes that he has no vocation in life.
On Truuine, Kark encounters a group of Jedi apprentices who had just arrived to
learn from one of the greatest Jedi instructors: Jedi Master Mroon Jassa, who
had maintained a small training compound on the world for several decades. The
Gotal immediately sensed the would-be Jedi’s anticipation, but recognizes that
beneath that surface layer is an underlying calm, a peace-bond between the Jedi
and the universe unlike anything he had ever witnessed. Kith Kark decides to
accompany the Jedi to Master Jassa’s compound near Truuine’s northern pole.
Upon arriving, the Jedi are welcomed by Jedi Master
Mroon Jassa, but Kith Kark receives no salutation. Shocked and slightly
offended, Kark presents himself, stating that he wants to become a Jedi. But
Jassa continues to ignore him, occupying himself instead with his new
apprentices. Now more than a little annoyed, Kark demands the Jedi master’s
attention, declaring again that he wants to become a Jedi. Mroon Jassa regards
the Gotal and explains to him that by his own actions, he has proven that he is
not ready to commune with the Force. The Jedi Master suggests that Kark leaves
and return in a future time when he may be ready to make a committment.
Feeling angry and dejected, unsure of what Jedi Master
Mroon Jassa means, Kith Kark decides to return to Antar 4. (note: YMD-date conjectured from Kith Kark’s bio in Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Companion, as well as
the age-table in Star Wars Roleplaying Game: Ultimate Alien Anthology which
states that Gotal are young adults from 10 – 12 standard years old)

01:25, morning (Colonies, Prindaar system: Antar 4) After having made up his mind that he wants to join Jedi Master Mroon
Jassa’s training compound on Truuine, the Force-sensitive Gotal Kith Kark
begins to spend every spare moment learning of the Jedi from any source he can
get his hands on: from ancient historical texts to questionable documents
supposedly detailing the meaning of the Jedi Way. (note: YMD-date conjectured from Kith Kark’s bio in Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Companion, as well as

of galactic civilization two years ago’. Also, Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi
# 2 states that it has been ‘two years’ ago that Onderon made contact with
galactic civilization)

03:26, early morning (Colonies, Perave system: Arkania) As the Jedi training of the brothers Ulic and Cay Qel-Droma continues at
Jedi Master Arca Jeth’s training compound, Cay Qel-Droma senses a slight change
in his older brother’s attitude: an overconfidence, a frustration with the slow
pace of Master Jeth’s instructions. Cay Qel-Droma dismisses the turn of Ulic
Qel-Droma’s mood has taken, attributing it to his brother’s natural ability in
the Force and his strong hunger to learn more.

history of the Jedi, he lacks a basic understanding of the power he wishes to

05:12, dusk - night (Outer Rim Territories, Arkanis sector: Tatooine, Jundland Wastes): After a trying day of training in the oppressive heat
of the Jundland Wastes, Dace Diath, the son of Jedi Master Sidrona Diath of
Tatooine, loses all hope in his ability as a Jedi. He goes to his father for
consolation, but he offers no words of comfort, remarking that his son has to rely
on introspection to discover his destiny rather than on outside intervention.
Surprised and somewhat upset at his father’s advice, Dace Diath wanders out
into the waning light of dusk, focusing his toughts on his difficulty.
The hours slip by as Dace Diath works through the
confusion and inner conflict that has overtaken his mind. (note: YMD-date conjectured from Dace Diath’s bio from

05:13, night – early morning (Outer Rim Territories, Arkanis sector: Tatooine, Dune Sea): Yesterday, after a trying day of training in the
oppressive heat of the Jundland Wastes, Dace Diath, the son of Jedi Master
Sidrona Diath of Tatooine, lost all hope in his ability as a Jedi. His father
told his son to rely on introspection to discover his destiny. Last night, Dace
Diath wandered out into the waning light of dusk, focusing his toughts on his
difficulty. The hours slipped by as Dace Diath works through the confusion and
inner conflict that has overtaken his mind.
Now, Dace Diath finds himself on the edge of the Dune
Sea. As his gaze slides across the moonlit landscape, visual and vocal
rememberances cycle up from the depths of his mind. One memory in particular
stands out: while visiting Ossus as a child, he had the opportunity to inspect
a Jedi Holocron. The gatekeeper of the holocron had appeared in a swirl of
transluscent mist and had told him that a Jedi who tries with all of his being
never fails. The gatekeeper explained that it is the Jedi who gives up that
fails. Standing in the frigid night winds, Diath recites the gatekeeper’s words
over and over, realizing then that his own thoughts had caused him all his
difficulty: if he can just practice, train, and learn without these negative
feelings about his progress, he will not be hampered. Now he understands why
his father had declined to help him through this dark time: Sidrona Diart knew
that his son would not accept such a philosophy if it came from someone else.
He had to discover his own path for himself, and must belief in it without
question. (note: YMD-date conjectured from
Dace Diath’s bio from Star Wars: Tales
of the Jedi Companion which states that Diath trained ‘two more years under
his father’s tutelage’)

stole and embezzled enough funds to buy his own vessel, the Byblos Drive Yards E-2

into a marauder vessel with the ability to assault ore-haulers and steal
whatever precious minerals fills the cargo holds. The vessel’s pincers allow
the ship to attach itself to the side of its prey so the high-power plasma
drills can rip open the hull the suction tube then drops into the hold and
sucks out the ore within. To increase his chance of succeeding in raids,
Stonebone also replaces the E-2’s normal engines with Corellia StarDrive
