The survival of the Republic depends on two factors: wise governing by administrators and lawmakers, and the preservation of harmony and justice by the Jedi. It is a practice for Jedi to become guardians of new star systems, overseeing transitions and assisting with local difficulties.

(note: YMD-date conjectured by Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Companion which states that Qrrl Toq studies each ven ‘for a period of exactly one Nazzri year’ which I conjectured to be as long as a Standard year)

Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Companion (Chapter Two: The Jedi: Andur Sunrider)                                                                                                                             page 17

03:14, day: Last year, Jedi Knight Jev Sunrider left the Sunrider family home to confront a force of evil growing in the nearby system of Krayiss Two. Now, as the thirteen-year-old Andur Sunrider is tending to the small garden his father had sown just behind their home, the glowing, translucent image of his grandfather suddenly appears to him. Shocked, and more than a little afraid, Andur Sunrider leaps backward and calls for his father. But when the warm, familiar voice of his grandfather tells him to calm himself, the youngster feels the fear slip away. The specter of Jev Sunrider explains that Andur Sunrider will play a part in the coming war against the dark side. But his grandfather warns him not to resist the role the Force wishes him to play, for things are not always what they seem. Before Andur Sunrider can respond, the ghostly form fades, leaving the boy to ponder the meaning of his grandfather’s strange words. (note: date conjectured from Andur Sunrider’s bio in Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Companion which states that this occurs a year after ‘Andur turns 12’)

Month 4

Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Companion (Chapter Four: Sith Reborn: Ommin)                                                                                                                         pages 73 & 74

04:13, day (Inner Rim, Stenness sector: Onderon, Iziz): King Ommin, ruler of the walled city of Iziz, has another dark side training session with the specter of the long-dead fallen Jedi Knight Freedon Nadd. Enraged, Nadd tells Ommin that he will never reach his potential if he falters at the slightest obstacle: if he does not have the strength to reach his destiny, then he does not deserve to become a Sith sorcerer. Ommin’s anger flares as Nadd remarks that his doubt will be his downfall. Ommin had sacrificed more than he had thought he ever would in his quest to make the dark side his ally. And now all of his efforts hang in a single moment, his one chance to prove his worthiness. He cannot let it slip from his grasp and his anger becomes his weapon to reach his destiny. Then suddenly, the dark side floods Ommin’s being, becoming one with every cell in his body.

After a while, Ommin’s normal vision returns and he sees the ghostly form of Freedon Nadd hovering close by. Feeling stronger than he ever had, Ommin wants to show his mentor what he has accomplished. He pushes himself from his ancient throne, and then collapses under his own weight as his legs are no longer able to support him. Laughing, Nadd explains that the dark side does not come without its price: now that Ommin has power over the Force, he has lost power over his own body. (note: YMD-date conjectured from Novar’s bio in Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Companion which states that this happens ‘a decade’ after Ommin’s training had begun)

Month 7

Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Companion (Chapter Two: The Jedi: Kith Kark)                                                                                                                                      page 24

07:03, day (Colonies, Prindaar system: Antar 4) The small Force-sensitive Gotal Kith Kark’s acute sensitivity to electromagnetic emissions prevent him from getting within a dozen standard meters of electronic devices, especially droids and computers. Due to this sensitivity, his family is forced to move into the wilderness of Antar 4 to avoid the technology that continually interferes with Kith Kark’s sense cones. (note: YMD-date conjectured from Kith Kark’s bio in Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Companion, as well as the age-table in Star Wars Roleplaying Game: Ultimate Alien Anthology which states that Gotal are young adults from 10 – 12 standard years old)
