Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi # 1 (of 5) (Ulic Qel-Droma and the Beast Wars of Onderon)                                                                                                                     page 10

07:12, day (Inner Rim, Stenness sector: Onderon): Having migrated from the moon of Dxun aeons age, the Dxun monstrous creatures which prey on the peaceful Onderonian tribes continue to multiply. Thanks to the threat from Dxun, Onderon civilization developed in the form of one great walled city: the city of Iziz. It became the Onderonian’s custom to cast out the great city’s lawbreakers into the wilderness. The Dxun monsters provided quick and efficient execution for the Onderonian outcasts.

But eventually, the outcasts learn how to survive in the wilds, and even subdue the beasts and conquer them. A few of the outcasts begin to establish themselves as powerful warlords, with great armies of vicious monsters at their command. These Beast-Lord begin to prepare for war against the great walled city of Iziz. (note: Dark Horse Insider Vol. 2 # 17 states that this happens ‘during the ages’)
