05:18, morning (Outer Rim Territories, Horuset system, Korriban): Over centuries, the Dark Jedi rulers mingled their blood with that of their Sith slaves and servants. Transformed by the power of their dark side Masters, the Sith species has advanced and evolved, discovering new ways to manipulate the dark side of the Living Force: alchemy, sorcery, the ability to shape and create new life-forms through controlled mutations.

Armed with this knowledge, the Sith began to expand their influence. With Korriban as their capital, they acquired new territory rapidly until virtually all of the inhabited planets outside the Galactic Core bowed down to them. Now, a 1,000 years after the Sith species became the slaves of the fallen Jedi, the size and scope of the Sith Empire rivals that of the Republic. (note: Y-date conjectured by the Heritage of the Sith article which states that this is ‘within only 1,000 years’)
